Lev Platsman, MD, FAAP
Dr. Lev Platsman is a board certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. During the course of a career that has spanned nearly a decade, Dr. Platsman has acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience that allows him to provide the best possible care for his patients and their families. Drawing on inspiration from his grandmother who was a highly regarded pediatrician in the former USSR, Dr. Platsman is passionate about pediatrics and the communities he serves. He recognizes the important role pediatricians play in the growth, development and overall well-being of children, as well as in supporting and educating parents and caregivers in order to achieve a happy, healthy and loving environment for children to thrive in.
In his spare time, Dr. Platsman enjoys moments with his family, including his three young children and two dogs, and prioritizes staying active. His personal life mirrors his goal as a doctor— to deliver the level of care and attention he would want for his own children.
Dr. Platsman received his Doctorate of Medicine from the American University of Antigua, College of Medicine, and completed his pediatric residency training at Richmond University Medical Center in affiliation with Mount Sinai in New York. During residency, he was part of a team of residents that led a quality improvement group aimed at reducing medication errors and adverse drug events caused by inadequate reconciliation of medications for pediatric patients. The project was recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and was published in Pediatrics, the official Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Platsman is licensed to practice medicine in both New York and New Jersey. His favorite thing about being a Pediatrician is becoming a part of his patients’ families and he can’t wait to meet you!
